After two marathons I fell out of love with running, I basically got bored. I was encouraged to enter the London Triathlon Sprint and have started enjoying training once again. Stairs at work have become a struggle once more.

Blood Test Update

Bone Marrow Donation Update: The blood test kit from Duff lymphocytes anonymous arrived today. It looks a bit scary but cool all the same. I've read all the stuff that came with the kit and have been informed that I have a 25% chance of becoming a donor. There was a lot of stuff covering how they get to the cells (covered in not so much detail here.) etc. It is all a little bit more involved than I thought but I am still very willing to do it. I just hope it doesn't get in the way of my marathon training. Don't get me wrong if it does, of course the marathon will get dumped but I really really want to do it.

On the running front, I didn't fancy running today but I went anyway. This made me feel great and I hope showed me what I will get out of this marathon training over big thighs, more determination and sticktoitiveness. I feel this is something I lack, I get excited about things but then get excited about something else or get snowed under with work or worries. Well done me.

A big thanks to the Olds for the Christmas present of one pair of my new comfy running shoes. I am blister-free so far. And to Dad for choosing us the industrial mega-shredder which we made good use of today when we cleared out all our old bills and statements.

Also, Kay was very very happy and insited I tell you that she saw a Grey Wagtail in our garden, two days running. It made her smile and make some kind of bacon fat seed cake thingy which was lovely to see (but not smell! ;-P). Here is a comedy bird feeder recipe I found. My favourite bit comes just after "If you hunt deer".
