After two marathons I fell out of love with running, I basically got bored. I was encouraged to enter the London Triathlon Sprint and have started enjoying training once again. Stairs at work have become a struggle once more.

Science loses: Ed reigns triumphant! Science cries. Ha!

The best thing that can happen to a PhD student happened to me today. Something which I was expecting not to work, in a similar way to the rest of the stuff that hasn't been working for a month didn't work, worked! Yey me. So I am happy even though it's 8pm and we're (Kay and I) still at work. Also, the best thing that can happen to someone new to training for a marathon happened to me today. It's a rest day! Yey me again And so because of my happy mood, I will treat you world. Here is the promised photo of my shiny new shoes. As you can see by counting the number of my not-so-new, not-so-shiny feet, I have more shoes than feet. This would-be insanity is only 2/3 of the recommended madness. This book (A Christmas present from Kay) advises potential marathon runners to buy 3 pairs! I can't afford three pairs, and since I have streamlined the number of weeks I need for my training, I am hoping 2 will be fine. I have also been using the Runners World guide to marathon training. My feet look like Hobbit's feet according to Kay. They are unusually large for a 5'4" tiddler I suppose. More photos of my ace Christmas presents to follow I think. You've had enough for today though. The marrowbone jelly sucker's blood test kit hasn't arrived yet...Maybe tomorrow...I'll wanna settle down...Until tomorrow, I'll just keep movin' on ta da da da ta da da da.
Guess the Theme Tune Competition (not you Luisa, you're too good at this game). Email your entry to: icareabout80sTV@madeupcompetitions.suc.ker
