After two marathons I fell out of love with running, I basically got bored. I was encouraged to enter the London Triathlon Sprint and have started enjoying training once again. Stairs at work have become a struggle once more.

Remember what you mother said...

...never go out in the snow wearing lyrca shorts. Aaaah that old adage (adages are always old says Kay. Bah. Bill Bryson can bugger off, stupid words book eh Phil?), oh balls, now my flow is all buggered up. If only I could delete words that I have already written down. Babble babble babble. Anyway, yes, today, in the snow, I went out running. It was cold, I was half blind and some little... shite, threw a snowball at me. However I did run the further I have ever ever run before, 17 million miles (perhaps I exarggerate). It wasn't fun but it was worth doing. Some words of warning if you ever go running when it is snowing, wear a water proof and expect people to look at you like you are completely mental. Perhaps you are. Just thought it was worth mentioning, I was out running for 2h 45min today. That's a long time, there aren't many things I spend 3 hours doing. Perhaps this running thing isn't a good idea. I could have been... mooching for three hours instead. And I ran 4 miles on Sat morning too, another hour of my precious time gone. Forever.

Further running news, my training partner Phil completed a half marathon today in 1:54:34. A personal best, well done Phil. We both will be running in the Adidas Silverstone half marathon next week so lets see if we can both beat PBs!

Non running news includes the booking of the flights for a holiday to Palermo in May. It was certainly a stressful day, (see Kay's blog) 7 hours of faffing and waiting but we got there in the end. Chris I now imagine that this is what your job is like every day. Arsey people who want exactly what they want whether it is possible or not. I'm admire you on a totally new level after a day trying to please myself, my parents and Kay (not that any of those people are difficult but there are a lot of opinions).

Talking of holidays, here's a picture of Statue park in Budapest. Both Kay and I have been there (separately), it's good but it ain't Golden Eye!

Well done, and welcome to the wacky world of travel planning. Actually it isn't that bad as usually we have a head start on Joe and Josephine Public, as generally, but not exclusively, we have a fair idea of what is possible. The exceptions to this are Mongolia - everything possible, including wrestling in tight leather trunks (the national sport - don't knock it unless you have tried it!! usually performed in subzero temperatures - a bit like your lycra shorts effort today, but without the snowballs) if you have enough money, or Uzbekistan where very little seems to be possible any of the time.

As ever, I am enjoying the bedtime reading - thanks Ed (and Editor ... Kay). Incidentally, if Kay thumps Ed, is that Ed 'itting? Geddit. Sorry it is very late and I should be in bed!

Can't believe the exhilirating Liverpool match yesterday didn't deserve a comment?! Heard someone on Radio 1 this morning phone in to say he has confounded Alan Pardew's criticism that Arsenal do not have any English players..... he cited Steven Gerrard!
